KEEPING IT RURAL

Jeff and Shawna Get Married:

Date: 10 SEPTEMBER 2011
Place: CHICKALOON, ALASKA
Time: 2:00PM

Greetings from beautiful Chickaloon, Alaska! We wanted to share information about our rural wedding such as how to get here, what to dress for, and what one might expect in a rural wedding. To be honest, we're not fully sure what to expect. Come rain or sunshine, this snazzy little blog might at the very least help make sense of it all.

Planning a day trip to Chickaloon is fairly simple... and exciting, might I add. Chickaloon is about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Anchorage; once you reach Palmer, you're golden. Rolling into Palmer makes for a great pit stop, and from there it's only 40 more minutes to go. If you are a day tripper you can arrive early in the day and drive back home in the late afternoon or early evening. An added bonus to this little adventure is the scenery along the drive- it is truly magnificent this time of year.

But! You might consider camping out and indulging in a wedding weekend get away here. A lot of our family and friends will be overnighting on the property with us (see below for staying over night), which means several nights of celebrating in full-on Trumblee/Whaley fashion. Ohhhh yeah! I have no idea what that means, but laughs will surely be had.

Either way you choose, we want you to feel comfortable and enjoy this experience with us. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or need further information.
We are very excited to see all of you! Please RSVP at whaley.jeff4@gmail.com. Or just give us a call!

Keep it rural, ya'll.

A Camping Trip? Or a Day Trip?

DAY TRIPPERS
If you are planning a day trip, you can arrive anywhere between 11:00am and 1:30 pm and stay as long as you're comfortable. Plan on making a day of it. The ceremony will start around 2:00pm and the reception should last until roughly 6:00pm. Take a look at the wedding agenda for rough details. There will be an after party following the reception, which will probably last until the cows come home. We don't own cows, nor do we expect cows to show up to our party so this is a good guess for us.

OVER NIGHTERS
There are plenty of options for staying over night or for the weekend.

Cabins at King Mountain. Lodge:  907-745-4280

Motorized travel homes
Some folks will be staying in RV's or camper trucks. Please let us know if you're considering bringing a motorized travel home. Space has been cleared out for these to camp (*Jeff flexing muscles as we speak), but we want to get a good count to make sure there is enough space.

RV's from:  www.abcmotorhome.com  1-800-421-7456
They are located very near Anchorage's Ted Steven's Int'l Airport.  Mention the wedding in Chickaloon.

For those who will be camping out there is a plenty of space to pitch a tent. Running water will be available and we'll have port-a-potties onsite and designated fire pits.
